Mai shocks EVERYBODY

alania

(no subject)

Hey all, I just joined this community. I'm getting married 4/4/09 in Douglaston NY. While I've lived in NY all my life, for the life of me I have no idea what vendors to use for.. anything. We're on a tight budget so any recommendations are welcome! I am most interested in a photographer, possibly videographer, florist, limo service, and florist. We already have the venue, church, and dresses.

Thank you!

Bklyn/Manhattan Dry Cleaners?

Hi,
Does anyone have recommendations for a good, affordable dry-cleaner for my wedding gown? Brooklyn would be ideal, but I'd go into Manhattan as well.

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could recommend a salon to get my hair washed and blow dryed and my make up done for the wedding day. My hotel is around 49th and 6th so it would be great if there was a good not so expensive place nearby!
Thanks for any help!

wedding! and anyone need some pellegrino?

hello, metroweddings folks!

as our fearless moderator mentioned, kate and i got married two weeks ago in brooklyn. it went fantastically. we have lots of recommendations to post--dresses, venue, food, staffing companies, etc, etc, etc. expect a big wrap up post in the next few weeks, and neither of us are planning on leaving the community for a while. we're more than willing to talk to any brooklyn brides about how we did what we did!

but, more pressingly--if any summer brides on here are doing the diy route for reception catering, and still need some of the basics like mineral water, selzer, and soda, we have TONS left over and would be very willing to pass them along very cheaply. i've got something like a case and a half of san pellegrino in my apartment, people. someone, please, take it away from me!

and, just for fun: photos!

Wedding Dates List

brooklynmili's wedding passing me by reminded me that I should probably have a list of upcoming Metro Wedings. For now, I'll use what you put in your intro, but please correct me if you either:
1. Don't want to be included in the list
2. Change your date
3. Want to request any other changes/corrections

List is as follows:

Bride: Happy Y!

Congratulations are in order!

Congrats to brooklynmili and Kate, who got married this past Saturday!

Their photographer (and mine), lysistrata, has teaser pics here.

Edit: even more of them are here!
